I have just started a blog for the group of textile artists that I work with - One Step On. We already have web site but thought it might a nice idea to have a blog as well. Do please take a look and perhaps you might consider becoming a follower. There is only one past so far but we all have to start some where. There is a link to past exhibitions at the top of the page with plenty of images of some of our work.
These are some samples some North American Smocking techniques that we were introduced to at our meeting this last weekend. Monica, who showed us how do them, had some very interesting samples. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me. I will have to get her to send me some images.

the irregular textures formed by the smocking are very interesting. I have done traditional english smocking but never this. I would love to know how it is done (do you just randomly hitch sections together perhaps?)
